How to Read Serious Dailies

Lucky Pillars

The numbers that follow each Stem (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) indicate the year that matches the pillar. The animal name at the end will tell the Branch. For example, when you see “Metal 90 Horse” that’s because 1990 is a Metal Horse year.

Here’s what you may not have known: the Metal Horse Pillar could be in your BaZi even if it’s not your year. There are also Metal Horse months, days and hours. So – to get the most out of the Serious Dailies you need to know all four of your pillars: Year, Month, Day, Hour.

If you don’t know your Four Pillars but you want to, please send me your birth information. Calculators may get you wrong especially if you’re on/near a cusp.

Once you know all four of your pillars, find any one of them in the Serious Dailies forecast. That’s your lucky day!  Not every month has them. The position of the pillar (Year, Month, Day, Hour) will give further nuance to the nature of the good fortune.

Year Pillar

Has to do with your physical body and what you do with it, ancestors, family traits. In terms of luck the year pillar is said to take the first “hit” of any event, good or bad.

Month Pillar

Relates to career, work environment, training, age mates and peers, siblings, exes and your modus operandi.

Day Pillar

Your self and your true partner; your immediate environment and home life.

Hour Pillar

The innermost you, your children, future, hopes and dreams.

Elemental Implications

If you know your Four Pillars then you’ll know your Day master or Day stem. The elemental implications of the Stems and Branches will reveal more specifics about what to expect. For example, if you’ve had a BaZi with me you know what your money element is and which Stems and Branches that involves.
